Ontario Premier Doug Ford filled three cabinet vacancies and appointed a new labour minister, while moving several other ministers and associate ministers in a Sept. 10 cabinet shuffle.
The cabinet shuffle reassigns six existing or associate ministers, and brings three new MPPs into cabinet, with Ford saying the move is intended to provide a “fresh outlook.”
“It’s a combination of moving people around, getting a fresh outlook, a fresh start within new ministries,” Ford said Sept. 10.
“I put a lot of thought into it, and I think for any premier, myself, in the future or in the past, I think the toughest position you’re in is when you have to pick and choose who’s going to be in cabinet,” the Ontario premier added. …
