President Donald Trump appointed Adam Telle, assistant secretary of the Army for Civil Works, as acting secretary of the U.S. Army on Sept. 3.
“I am pleased to announce that Adam Telle, the current Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, will become Acting Secretary of the Army, effective immediately,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Thursday.
“He is a Great Patriot, who is respected by all,” Trump added.
The president’s appointment of Telle as acting secretary came after the White House announced on Aug. 31 that Army Secretary Dan Driscoll had submitted his resignation.
Telle has served at the Army’s Office of Civil Works since Aug. 2025, according to Legistorm, which tracks members of Congress and their staffers. Prior to that, Telle worked as the chief of staff for Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) from 2021 to 2025….
