The Ford Motor Company has issued a recall of 148,663 Mustang models from 2024 to 2026 for a possible electrical system failure that could result in a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of an accident.
According to a report posted on Aug. 25 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a wiring harness ground connection malfunction could affect the drive power, as well as headlights or the windshield washing system, which can also reduce visibility and possibly result in a crash. Additionally, the wiring issue could affect the vehicle’s air conditioning or engine cooling fan.
Notification letters about safety risks were mailed to owners of potentially affected vehicles on Aug. 31, and additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available. This is anticipated to be by March 31, 2027. …
