President Donald Trump said China had been “relatively inactive” during the conflict with Iran, including over the Strait of Hormuz, one day before Chinese leader Xi Jinping held brief talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at a regional summit.
Trump made the remarks at the White House on Aug. 31 while discussing Xi’s expected visit to Washington later this month.
“He’s coming in a couple of weeks. He looks forward to it; I look forward to having him,” Trump said.
“Even with the Strait of Hormuz, he’s relatively inactive. He’s been relatively inactive by comparison to what he could have been,” Trump added….
