The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will retire their nine CT-114 Tutor jets following the 2026 season, ahead of transitioning to new planes in the early 2030s.
The legendary aerobatic team will fly the iconic jets one final time on Nov. 15, as it makes make a historic appearance during the Canadian Football League’s (CFL) 113th annual Grey Cup.
The Snowbirds—also known as 431 Air Demonstration Squadron—have flown aerobatic demonstrations with the CT-114 jets since 1971. They have also performed at three previous Grey Cups, which the CFL says has helped connect Canadians “through a shared appreciation of sport and national pride.”
“For generations, the CFL and the Canadian Armed Forces have shared a meaningful connection, grounded in service, dedication and a commitment to the communities that unite us,” CFL Commissioner Stewart Johnston said in a Sept. 3 news release….
