The Austrian imperial house of Habsburg, particularly its socio-cultural institution “Flame of Peace”, whose president is Her Highness Herta Margarete of Habsburg,
Archduchess of Austria and Princess of Tuscany, honored Mrs. Tsaousidou, President of the Greek Section Association of European Journalists, for her remarkable career with the “Flame of Peace” gold medal,
which is governmentally recognized by the Austrian Ministry of Defense and Sports.
The award ceremony was conducted by the , representative of the Imperial House of Habsburg, Professor Dr. Tony Hatjidemetriou, Baron Breidel who presented her with the Gold Medal of “Flame of Peace”, in recognition of her devotion , moral integrity, and leadership qualities in journalism.
The Imperial Court selected her due to her values of peace, solidarity, and cooperation. Through cultural
openness and journalistic diplomacy, Mrs. Tsaousidou has built and continues to expand bridges
between institutions and countries over the years. She advocates for the freedom and independence of
press, as well as for human rights, and dreams of a just world centered on the human being. For 38 years, she has served values of the European journalism values with exemplary integrity, selflessness, and respect!

Baron Professor, Dr. Tony Breidel Hatjidemetriou read the letter from Herta Margarete von Habsburg,
Archduchess of Austria and Princess of Tuscany, President of Flame of Peace, Godmother of the
Bolfraskaserne/Austrian Federal Army:
“Dear guests,
It is with great pleasure that today, ” Flame of Peace”, our organization for the promotion of peace and
friendship among nations, based in Vienna and with a global presence, honors in Athens one of the
prominent personalities of Greece in journalism, Mrs. Isaia Tsaousidou.
Mrs. Tsausidou, President of the Greek Section of the European Journalists’ Union, and former AEJ- International President , based in Brussels, practices the profession of journalism with respect, dedication, and sensitivity, especially in relation to humanitarian issues and issues of discrimination.

Her activities, which extend far beyond European borders, have also expanded to Asia, where survival
difficulties, due to wars and oppression by totalitarian regimes, trap social groups, especially women and children, in adverse survival conditions, prompting it her to bring these issues to the attention of international fora, such as:
the European Parliament and the United Nations Organizations.
I would like, as the President of ” Flame of Peace”, to award Mrs. Isaia Tsaousidou the Gold Medal of Flame of Peace, which carries government recognition by a decision of the Austrian Ministry of Defense
and Sports, and to entrust my representative, Professor Dr. Tony Breidel Hatjidemetriou, Baron Breidel, to bestow this honor on behalf of me to Mrs. Isaia Tsaousidou.

At the award ceremony, personalities from all social and professional fields attended, including fellow
journalists, photojournalists, scholars, and people from the fields of literature, science and arts.
In video presentations,Mr. Abdalla Sharief, President of the United Nations Correspondents in Vienna, Arber Hitaj, President of the International Association of European Journalists – AEJ, Tibor Macak, former Secretary General of the international AEJ, Ersi Michael Papagianni, Director of
the Archangel Michael Rehabilitation Center (AMEN) from Cyprus, journalist Vasoula Christodoulou from England, Hozan Quadir, President of the Kurdistan Journalists from Erbil, and Spyridon Latsas,
Vice President of the Greek section of the Association of European Journalists, spoke about her unique personality.

A special moment was the surprise cake with the Greek flag, created by the internationally renowned Master Pastry Chef Michael Lewis Anderson, who traveled to Greece to attend the award ceremony for his beloved friend.
The evening ended with a particularly moving video featuring the best wishes and congratulations to Mrs. Tsousidou by her son Michalis Michalopoulos, from abroad!

At the event, Dr. Mary Marouli Zilemenou spoke about Mrs. Tsausidou, giving an extensive account of
everything that has connected them over the years in a complex journey of mutual friendship and cooperation. Also present were her childhood friend,
scenographer Katerina Sotiriou; journalist Vasiliki Doufeksi; the Vice President of the Volunteer Academy,
Dr. Antigone Oraiopoulou; ERT journalist Vicky Tsianika; criminologist Lambrini Avdela, who was her
student at the journalism school; music composer Pigi Lykoudis; the Secretary General of the Greek
Association of the European Journalists’ Union, Panagiotis Sfaelos; Kurdish journalist Pishtiwan Jaf; the President of PEFPE, Vasileios Koutroumanos; the President of Hellenic Media Group, Dimitris Kannavos; actor -director Paris Katsivelos among others.
The event coordinator, Lena Kyropoulos, who was responsible for the organization, expressed her
gratitude and congratulations.
