Rubio Tells ASEAN Partners US Willing to Negotiate With an Iran That Keeps Commitments

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told America’s ASEAN partners on July 22 that the United States stands “open-minded and always willing” to negotiate with an Iran that is serious about keeping its commitments.
Foreign ministers from the 11-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and major partners have meetings in Manila this week against a backdrop of instability since the United States and Iran resumed open conflict, raising fears about energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz, as well as inflation and global growth.
