Seventy-five martial artists from eight countries gathered in New York to participate in the 9th NTD International Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Competition, taking part in a shared mission to revive martial virtue.
The awards ceremony took place on Aug. 15, with martial artists receiving eight silver awards, 19 bronze awards, nine honorable mentions, and three special awards. Gold awards were vacant.
The competition is unique in its focus on only traditional Chinese martial arts styles and its mission to revive martial virtue, a code of conduct required of traditional martial artists.
It’s also part of a series of cultural events hosted by NTD, sister media of The Epoch Times, to revive traditional culture. NTD, a New York-based global television network founded by Chinese Americans who fled communism, stands for New Tang Dynasty, a reference to China’s cultural golden age….
