Chrysler Recalls 239,000 Ram Trucks for Defective Rearview Cameras

Chrysler (FCA US) has issued a recall of 239,131 Ram vehicles because rearview camera images may not display, increasing the risk of an accident.
The recall involves certain 2025 and 2026 RAM 1500 models in which a radio software error could cause the rearview image not to display, according to a report the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently posted on Sept. 4.
The report indicates that the radio software will be updated remotely or by a local dealer, free of charge.
Notification letters to owners of affected vehicles are expected to be mailed on Sept. 24. In the meantime, owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403, using the recall number 83D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov on Sept. 9. …
