House Passes Russia and Iran Sanctions Bill

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill on Sept. 16 aimed at imposing new sanctions on Russia and extending sanctions on Iran, sending the measure to the president’s desk.
The Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 aims to prevent Russia from using oil and gas sales to continue funding its war against Ukraine. It would also extend economic sanctions on Iran as the United States continues to pressure Tehran to make a deal over six months after the start of the Iran conflict.
