President Donald Trump said on Sept. 22 that the United States would reject any effort to create what he called a “global goverment” by the United Nations.
Trump made the remarks at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, saying the United States had helped implement sweeping reforms at the international body, including a 15 percent cut to its 2026 budget and the elimination of more than 4,000 positions from United Nations bureaucracy.
“The United Nations has great potential, I’ve said that for many years, but it must stop imposing the far-left agenda of globalist bureaucrats who nobody ever elected,” he said.
Trump said his administration had to intervene last year to stop the International Maritime Organization, a United Nations body, from “secretly establishing a first-ever global carbon tax.” …
