The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said on Oct. 1 that it discovered significant fraud in a program, while under former President Joe Biden, that released unaccompanied illegal immigrant children to sponsors living in the United States.
This resulted in alien minors being released into unsafe conditions in the country, leading to abuse and, in some cases, death, according to the review.
The review by the Office of General Counsel and the Office of Refugee Resettlement, an agency within HHS, found that out of thousands of concerning cases under the previous administration where a sponsor applied to care for an alien child, more than three-quarters involved fraud….
