The United States launched new airstrikes against Iran early Thursday after President Donald Trump said the United States would retaliate against the recent Iranian attacks on ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz. The United States struck multiple Iranian military sites “to further degrade Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping and innocent civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz,” according to an X post by the U.S. Central Command.
