An Arizona man pleaded guilty in federal court in Alabama to trafficking thousands of pills containing the opioid analog carfentanil through the U.S. mail.
Ignacio Miguel Tirado-Castillo pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute, distribution of a fentanyl analog, and attempted distribution of a fentanyl analog, U.S. Attorney Phillip W. Williams said in a July 24 statement.
“Thanks to the dedicated work of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, thousands of lethal carfentanil pills were intercepted before they made their way onto our streets,” Williams said.
“We will continue to leverage every resource to protect our communities from those who would destroy them through the distribution of fentanyl and fentanyl analogues.”…
